The TATA Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL Season 19) is underway, promising another spectacular season of franchise T20 cricket. Running from 28 March to 31 May 2026, across 13 venues in India, the tournament features all 10 franchises competing across 74 matches including the playoffs.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru enter as defending champions, having lifted their maiden IPL title in the 2025 final against Punjab Kings. This season sees a twist in the group format: each team plays once against the teams in their own group and twice against the teams in the other group — the reverse of the previous season's format.
The 10 teams are split into two virtual groups: Group A comprises KKR, RCB, RR, CSK and PBKS, while Group B features SRH, DC, GT, MI and LSG. At the end of the league stage, the top 4 teams qualify for the playoffs — 1st vs 2nd in Qualifier 1, and 3rd vs 4th in the Eliminator, leading to the Grand Final on 31 May 2026.
